Smart phone that records food information

Smart phone that records food information

THE SOLUTION

Develop an app for a smartphone that would allow your phone to record the food you are about to eat and give you the nutritional information on a particular food and record it. Someone trying to lose weight or is diabetic can instantly record what they have eaten for that day. By scanning a qr code or bar code. Recording food consumption tends to be a pain because you always have to lookup the particular food you have eaten. A labeling system would have to be developed such as qr or a bar code. Google is currently working on a way to allow smart phones to "see" objects and tell you what they are. (future technology). User would also be able to print their own labels to be scanned. Brilliant Idea and workable.

www.myfitnesspal.com is one. Problem is that most food products still use the old style bar codes. Because of the sizing and the installed userbase, very few food mfgs want to migrate to the newer bar codes today.

I'm actually talking about an app that a smart phone can tell you the calories etc... automatically. By capturing food and automatically calculating the nutritional information. I have my fitness pal and yes it calculates food but does not do it unless you manually enter the food information.

That's been done by a number of different apps.
