Ever bought milk brought it home and went to drink it (before the expiration date of course) and it was spoiled! This has happened to me and it only took once to make me smell every gallon of milk I now buy before taking a sip!! At some point clearly the milk was not refrigerated or cooled at the appropriate temperature. Easy solution: add a color coded sensor that would turn red and stay red after the milk had dropped to a specific temperature; a temperature that would spoil the milk. Really the color coded sensor cold be applied to meat products too, anything, just as long as you have some kind of guarantee that the product you are purchasing remained at the temperature required to stay fresh. Another product this could be added to is biologic/injectable drugs, these products have to remain at a certain temperature otherwise the medicine becomes less effective and/or unsafe to use. Having a sensor would give patients who were traveling with the drug or simply when the medicine was left out on the counter an indication it is no longer safe to use.
